Champions for Life were in four prisons this past weekend:

Okeechobee Correctional Institution
1,600 male inmates
We took in 24 motorcycles and two trikes
Film crew from "Born to Ride" filmed us throughout the day
(Scotty and I were assigned to this prison)

Martin Correctional Institution
1,000 male inmates
We took in about 10 motorcycles

Moore Haven Correctional Institution
750 male inmates
We took in about 8 motorcycles

Vision Quest
120 female inmates
We took in 10 motorcycles

We rode our bikes down to Lake Okeechobee after work on Friday night and returned Sunday night at 7:30pm. It was my longest ride at 463.8 miles round trip (we rode home around the lake and will have pictures soon, Lord willing).

We checked into the hotel and headed over to the Church and were blessed to have Clifton Jansky play for us. Clifton had just won ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR Thursday night (just the before) on National TV. I cried as he played God's Way and afterwards told him how blessed we all were that he
plays his Christian Country Music for us teammates as well as for the inmates, my heart smiled as he gave me a hug. We were also blessed to see Tino Wallenda as he has been in Monte Carlo the past few prison trips and is now the recipients of the SILVER CLOWN award.

We missed the follow-up dinner (which is where we get most of our stats from the weekend, however I am waiting to hear back on the numbers). We stayed behind and Scotty repaired one of the trikes. One of the trikes stayed broke down outside the prison all day and Scotty ensured Larry, the owner of the trike, that we would get him up and running so he could get back home to Pasco County before we left. Well as you may guess, you can't take tools into prison and there are no near by stores (OCI is in the middle of nowhere) so we were blessed to get out of the prison with enough time to "find a parts store" and to buy both parts as well as tools. Scotty rebuilt what needed rebuilt right there and got it back up and running in the parking lot. By the time we got the trike fixed one of the bikers wives (Sharon, Al's wife) told us that we had missed the dinner and by the time we got cleaned up and ate we missed the special concert Clifton Jansky played for us Saturday night. Praise be to our Lord that we got to hear/speak to Clifton twice, once Friday night as he sang for us at the team meeting and once again as he sang/spoke at the prison we were assigned.

Also assigned to our prison was Tino Wallenda, it was Scotty's first time seeing Tino walk the highwire and as windy as it was my heart pounded as he did all his stunts up there, Tino has been a real spiritual inspiration to me the more I get to know him and get to hear his personal stories. Of course I can't leave out that we had Jack "Murph the Surf" Murphy speak at our Institution as well. We had great weather and the inmates responded really well to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. I was blessed to be asked to share my bikes story from the stage to the 1600 men and the Lord and His story really had their attention as you could have heard a pin drop while I shared the story.. Short, to the point and just the facts. you guys would have been proud of me. but as I said, it was the Lord because ya'll know if I would have spoke in and of myself it could have been quite different. ha/ha.

Keep and eye out for the show, Born to Ride, I believe it airs on Sunday nights at 11:30 and comes on WTOG 44. I have never seen the show but we are praying we can get someone to tape it because I would love not only to see us on there but to share it with my family and friends. I will send an update as soon as I get the stats from Murphy and will also include airtime as soon as I learn the date it is to air. Thanks for the prayers of GREAT weather, a safe trip and a great thirst from the inmates!!! I am sure Jesus Christ will change the life of the many that we spoke to this weekend!!!

Thanks again for all your prayers and support
